Fr. Gheorghe Calciu on forgiveness
Ask for forgiveness through deep involvement of the soul and through unfeigned humility...with humble love, a love that will turn others' souls toward true forgiveness.
Don’t pull too hard on distant yokes. Rejoice more in one another, hurry, asking God to bless you with children; give to life what belongs to it, and to God what belongs to Him.
Try to be happy together because life is a ghost - what is real is only what relates to God and His presence in the world. Years pass quickly, and you will be old soon, but try at least to be young in your souls.
I will tell you something helpful: life in common (in a monastery or a family) is hard. You have to know how to be forgiven. Listen: to be forgiven! It is not hard to forgive, but to obtain forgiveness. And not through an empty phrase, eroded by conventional use, but through a deep involvement of the soul and through unfeigned humility which will impact people you hurt (or that you caused to hurt you through a treacherous game of your intelligence) with a humble love, a love that will turn their soul toward true forgiveness.
