Fr. Constantin Necula: "I am the image of Your glory"
At the Judgment, Christ will look to see how much He finds of Himself in our soul.
In the old days, the Schools of Theology in Romania used a philosophy manual of a great professor, Emilian Vasilescu. He used to tell students at the School of Theology in Sibiu:
“All my life, I searched for a definition of the human being and the human soul, and after reading hundreds of books written by tens of philosophers, I discovered it in the Book of Needs, the book that all priests use in their parishes. And in that book, there is a chant from the Funeral Service: I am the image of Your ineffable glory, though I bear the scars of my transgressions”
In other words, God seeks to identify Himself in us every time, and I would add this thought of St. Macarius the Egyptian, who said that at the Judgment, Christ will look to see how much He finds of Himself in our soul.
