Elder Sofian Boghiu: A Hesychast in the Tradition of Saint Paisius Velichkovsky
Blessed Paisius of Neamts also says that the joy cannot be described when the Name of Jesus descends from the mind to the heart
Similar to the other contemporary Romanian elders in the Paisian tradition of hesychasm, Fr. Sofian understood the spiritual life as a journey from the mind to the heart: "Blessed Paisius of Neamts also says that the joy cannot be described when the Name of Jesus descends from the mind to the heart, when the mind and heart unite-only then does a person become unified. Until then, many times a person lies, he makes up various beautiful phrases, but in his heart he despises the other: a contradiction. When the mind descends into the heart, a person becomes unified."
